On the 21 of August we held a beginners course at Clonanav. This was the first course in our new premises and was well received. The warm weather conditions made fishing difficult but a good day was had by all!

On the 13 &  14 of August we opened our new shop. To mark the occasion we had a host of demos and seminars from world class demonstrators including - Scott MacKenzie, Ian Gordon, Jim Fearn, Mick McDaid, Jim Hendrick and many more. The event was a huge success with anglers from all over Ireland in attendance

On the 26 of June we hosted another one of our popular 1 day beginners courses.  Despite the hot weather all who attended caught a fish!  Beginners courses are the ideal way to get into fly fishing, and give a solid foundation in learning the basic fly fishing skills including, knots, tackle set-up, casting, and fishing techniques. If you would like to attend one of our courses visit our website - www.flyfishingireland.com

Dan Hinds and Ulick had some great fishing at Clonanav this week. Despite the bright sunshine and hot weather we still managed to catch quite a few fish during the day!  Most fish were caught using dry fly with a nymph dropper (NZ style)

Our Salmon fly fishing beginners course took place on the 12th of June. We had a great turnout and some amazing weather! Not ideal for fishing, but was nice to be out in such hot weather. The fishing was poor but catching fish was not the objective of the day.  Students learnt to roll, switch and single spey cast as well as the mechanics of casting and much more!  As a follow on to this we will be hosting some improvers courses for 2011.  For more info on our courses see our website - www.flyfishingireland.com
